Healthy eating isn’t just a fad. As we all realise the problems associated with processed foods and meat more and more of us want to increase the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables that we eat. But traditional vegetables aren’t that appetising or exciting, just remember those boiled peas and carrots you used to get on the side of your Sunday Roast. Spiralizer food is a great way to make meals colourful, attractive and healthy - it’s also easy to use! Create ribbons of your favourite fruit and vegetables to use as a garnish to a salad, cook in a fruit crumble, or as a gluten-free alternative to pasta.
There’s lots you can put through your vegetable spiralizer. Carrots and courgettes are the obvious choices but you can spiralize sweet potato, aubergine, butternut squash, broocolli, peppers, parsnips, onions, and more. You can also use your spiralizer for harder fruits like apples and pears.
Using a spiralizer is really simple, but we’ve added features to this machine to make it even easier! Before you start make sure you have a clear space on a level worktop. Position you spiralizer on the surface and use the suction cup switch to activate that feature and help keep your machine in place during use. Cut a straight edge on the vegetable you want to spiralize and place that straight edge on the vegetable support. This support has little spikes to ensure your veg stays attached whilst you slice it. Put one hand on the handle and one the guide. Gently move the guide forward until the end of the veg has engaged with the cutting blade then turn the handle clockwise whilst gently moving the guide forward to ensure the vegetable is always in contact with the cutting blade. Don’t rush, and don’t push the guide too forcefully otherwise you’ll simply end up with squashed veg.
Yes! This spiralizer comes with three different blades that let you create veggie ribbons of three different thicknesses, from noodles to tagliatelle style. These blades are easy to change, simply slide them in and out of the top of the holder. We’ve even built in space to store the two spare blades when not in use.
The blades of this machine are dishwasher safe but you can also wash the whole machine by hand with warm water and a mild detergent (just remember to take care around those sharp blades!). Sometimes you’ll find that strongly coloured vegetables leave a bit of a stain on the plastic, simply use a solution of baking soda in water to remove this then rinse and allow to dry thoroughly. Make sure the metal blades are completely dry before storing them away.

Never heard of putting courgette in cakes? Don’t be put off, it actually tastes great! Just make sure to squeeze your spiralized courgette thoroughly to remove as much extra moisture as possible to avoid that soggy bottom.
Preheat the oven to 275 Degrees Centigrade.
In a large bowl mix together all the dry ingredients except for the courgette and chocolate chips. Do the same with the wet ingredients.
Add the dry to the wet then stir in the courgette until you have a smooth batter. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into muffin tins (approx 6 standard size) and cook for about 30 mins or until a skewer comes out clean.
Cut the chicken breast into chunks about ¼ inch thick and put to one side.
Use the spiralizer to turn the vegetables into noodles.
Heat a wok or large non-stick pan over a high heat. Once it is hot add the oil and swirl it round to coat your pan.
Add the chicken with your desired amount of salt and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes then add the garlic, ginger, pepper flakes. Continue to toss all the ingredients together over the heat for another couple of minutes.
Add the vegetables and soy sauce, toss to combine then stir fry for 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are crisp and tender.
