andrew james ice cream maker

Make delicious ice cream quickly and professionally in your own kitchen with the Andrew James Premium Ice Cream Maker with Compressor.

Is this Ice Cream Maker Machine Easy Enough for Beginners to Use?
Yes, as there isn’t any need to prefreeze the bowl - simply pour in your ingredients and this automatic ice cream machine will do the rest. There is a 60-minute timer that allows you to precisely determine your freezing time and use the LCD display to set and show the working time, temperature, and machine mode.

Unlike many other ice cream makers, there are 3 working modes, including ‘ice cream’, ‘cooling only’, and ‘mixing only’. To enter back into the setting mode during operation, make sure to hold the ‘Menu’ button.

To avoid overflow and waste, make sure that the ingredients do not exceed 60% of the capacity of the removable bowl as ice cream expands when it is being formed.

What Are the Main Features?
The professionally designed paddles mix a smooth, creamy soft-serve ice cream within 1 hour of starting the machine. There isn’t any need to prefreeze the bowl - and your soft-serve ice cream is ready in just 60 minutes. The removable bowl is easy to clean, and the neat and compact size of your ice cream maker makes it simple to store in any kitchen cupboard.

Can I Add in Ingredients?
From simple vanilla and classic mini choc chip to gelato and more adventurous fruit and even alcoholic flavours, you can create your perfect homemade ice cream without any hassle. And if you forget to add something or have a flash of sudden inspiration, you can add more ingredients as the mixing is in process.

Tried and Trusted
As one of our bestselling professional ice cream machines, this model has been reviewed by the experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute. They tried and tested the ice cream maker in every manner and rated it an impressive 83 out of 100.

Check out lots of delicious recipes in the Extra Info tab and on our blog.

Do not place the machine on hot surfaces such as stoves, hotplates, or near open gas flames.

Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 500ml Full Fat Milk
  • 125ml Single Cream
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 150g Caster Sugar
  • 3 Egg Yolks

Method:

  1. Combine the cream, milk, and vanilla essence in a pan and bring it almost to the boil. Set it aside to cool slightly. Beat the egg yolks and sugar in a separate bowl.
  2. Stirring continuously, pour the milk/cream mix onto the beaten egg yolks and sugar. Ensure that the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Return the mix to the pan and over a very low heat; continue to stir until the mix coats the back of the spoon. Allow the mix to cool thoroughly.
  4. Pour the mix into the Ice Cream Maker and mix until firm (about 30 minutes).

Variations:

Chocolate - Omit the cream and replace it with 100g/4oz of plain chocolate that has been melted in a basin over a pan of boiling water.

Nuts - Add 100g/4oz of chopped nuts to the ice cream mix just before serving.

Strawberry Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 400g Ripe Strawberries
  • 200ml Double Cream
  • 75g Caster Sugar
  • ½ Juice of a Lemon

Method:

  1. Puree the strawberries.
  2. Mix the sugar, cream, and lemon juice into the puree.
  3. Place the mix in a refrigerator to cool.
  4. When the mix is cool, pour it into the ice cream maker and mix until it is firm.

Variations:

Strawberries can be substituted for any soft fruit. The sweetness of the mix will depend on the fruit used, so remember to test for sweetness before freezing. Please note that the length of time that the mix takes to freeze depends on:

  • The quantity and composition of the mix. The addition of alcohol to the mix will inhibit freezing.
  • The original temperature of the mix.
  • The room temperature will also affect the mix.

Banana Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large Ripened Banana
  • 200ml Skimmed Milk
  • 100ml Double Cream
  • 50g Caster Sugar

Method:

  1. Mash the bananas until smooth.
  2. Mix the milk, double cream, and sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tsp. Caster Sugar

  • 175ml Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 125ml Single Cream
  • 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • 12 Miniature Peanut Butter Cups (Chopped)

Method:

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the sugar and eggs with an electric mixer until thick - this will take approximately 3 minutes. Then, set aside.
  2. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over a low heat. Add the heated milk into the eggs while whisking vigorously.
  3. Pour the whole mixture into a saucepan and cook over a low heat, stirring constantly. Keep stirring until thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Do not boil.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in the peanut butter. Allow to cool slightly, then whisk in the sweetened condensed milk, single cream, and vanilla and allow to chill.
  5. Pour the mixture into the freezer bowl and freeze until the desired consistency is achieved. Add in the chopped peanut butter cups steadily throughout the freezing process.
