Colourful Measuring Spoons Set
When it comes to potent ingredients like spices, seasonings, baking powder and hot sauces etc,. a little is sometimes all you need. But trying to guess the weight of these ingredients you can end up dramatically altering the taste of the finished item if you get it wrong.
Measuring spoons have been especially designed to ensure consistent dosages and ratios. This set of plastic measuring spoons can be used for a variety of ingredients including spices, powders, sugars, coffee, oils, milk and even melted butter or chocolate. Because each spoon is in a different colour it makes it super simple to spot the size you need in the drawer without having to double check the volumes printed on the labels.
What Are These Measuring Spoons Sizes?
This set of high quality spoons includes the following measures;
Each one is moulded from thick AS plastic to give it a heavy weight feel, and the handles feature an ergonomic design making them comfortable to hold. The bowl of each spoon is around 1mm thick and the handles are nearly double that, so you can be sure these spoons will stand up to frequent use.
Can You See The Capacity Of These Measuring Spoons In Grams?
The size of each spoon is printed on the handle, along with the volume in millilitres. Converting this to grams is really easy since 1ml equals 1g. Therefore, the tablespoon will hold 14.79g whilst the ¼ teaspoon is 1.23g
Does The Ring Come Apart?
This set of plastic measuring spoons can be kept together using the handy ring that accompanies them. Simply push the connector at the top apart then thread the ring through the holes in the handle. You can store them on the ring in size order to make the easy to stack and store, or put your most commonly used sizes at the front for convenience.
Can You Clean These In A Dishwasher?
Yes, these spoons are dishwasher safe. The sizes are printed on the handles rather than engraved so these may wear off with repeated washing on high heat cycles, but the fact that the different sizes are different colours means you’ll still be able to identify them.
Why Can’t I Just Use Normal Spoons?
The spoons you get in cutlery are standardised for sizes, so you can’t guarantee you’re using the right amount. Teaspoons can vary from around 2.5ml to 7.3ml whereas tablespoons and dessert spoons can vary from 10ml to 15ml or more. Even small variations like this can dramatically change the rise of your cake or the taste of your curry, so it’s always better to use specifically designed and calibrated measuring spoons
Sizes are: ¼ tsp, ½ tsp, 1 tsp, ½ tbsp and 1 tbsp
1 Tbsp = 12cm x 4.5cm
½ Tbsp = 11.5cm x 3.5cm
1 Tsp = 11.5cm x 3.25cm
½ Tsp = 11cm x 2.5cm
¼ Tsp = 10.75cm x 2.25cm
At the top of the storage ring there is a circular connector. If you hold the ring with the complete circle facing towards you, push the ring to the left of it to pop it open.
