Our lovely wooden bee and insect house provides a safe environment for beneficial garden creatures to shelter, hibernate and nest, where they won’t be disturbed by gardening or landscaping.

Bees help pollinate your flowering plants and encouraging them to take up residence in your garden will ensure you get good flowers year on year. As well as this, having them buzzing around is a wonderful way of adding an extra dimension of movement and sound to your garden.

Unlike honey bees, solitary bees do not live in a hive, and like to shelter and lay their eggs in tube-like holes. The bamboo canes and wooden tunnels in our bee house provide the ideal spot - look out for tubes blocked with mud or plant material as a tell-tale sign of eggs inside!

Insects like ladybirds and lacewings are also very useful to have around, as they provide natural pest control for your plants thanks to their appetite for aphids. They will make their home in the dry, dead wood sections of the house, along with some elusive creatures like beetles and centipedes if you’re lucky!

The bee house is constructed from sturdy, weather resistant fir wood and the natural finish means it will blend in with the living elements of your garden, while still standing out as a feature thanks to the appealing ‘insect hotel’ design.

Installation tips: Hang in a sunny spot, ideally south facing, near to vegetation and flowering plants.
