With the Andrew James Deep Fill Toasted Sandwich Maker you get extra large and extra deep plates. At 28.5cm x 15.2 you can use bread from most commercial and homemade loaves. The 26mm deep plates mean you can use 4 slices for deep filled sandwiches or put three thin slices in each section for tasty triple deckers. As long as you don’t overfill, the locking handle will keep the contents secure and create perfectly sealed triangles bursting with your favourite flavours.
There are loads of great toastie ideas out there, so don’t limit yourself to just cheese toasties. For breakfast add in chopped bacon, sliced sausages, baked beans and scrambled eggs; or chicken and pesto for a tasty afternoon snack. You can also cook delicious snacks like omelettes, frittatas, even chocolate cake, donuts and pancake poppers.
You can use most sliced bread, whether that’s traditional white sliced or something homemade like a cheese and onion loaf, seeded batch or even some boozy beer soaked bread. Use your toastie sandwich maker to whip up a super hot mexican delight by soaking bread in salsa before squeezing out the excess juice and filling with pork and refried beans for toasting.
The non-stick plates make it really easy to clean. If some of your cheese oozes out, or if you butter the outside of the bread, simply wipe the surface clean using a soft cloth that has been dampened in warm water. It’s best to clean the sandwich toaster when it has cooled down but before it gets completely cold.
It may make big sandwiches but the design of the this toastie maker means it’s easy to pack away. The machine measures a compact 29.5 x 24.5 x 10cm and can be stored upright. There’s also a handy cord storage facility for the 70cm cable
No, you’ll need to turn the machine off at the wall when you’ve finished. However, the indicator lights on let you know when the power is on, and when it has sufficiently heated up.
Yes. Whilst this is a ‘deep fill’ toastie maker, the secret is not to overfill the bread if you want the perfect seal.
