Chocolate Mess Bundt Cake Recipe

We LOVE chocolate!

We love it eating chocolate, we love thinking about chocolate and we especially love baking with chocolate – particularly when chocolate consists of approximately 90% of the ingredients involved.

Think we’re joking? Check out our recipe for Chocolate Mess Bundt Cake below…

Ingredients for our Chocolate Mess Bundt Cake (serves 8)

1 chocolate cake mix of your choice – we know. We’re SO lazy, but if you want to mess on making your own chocolate cake mix, fill your boots.

480ml of heavy cream

455g of the chocolate of your choice

Method for making your Chocolate Mess Bundt Cake

Pre-heat your oven at 180˚C

In one mixing bowl, prepare the cake mix in accordance with the instructions on the packet.

Once ready, move the mixture into your pre-greased Bundt Pan.

Pop the pan into the oven for approximately 40 mins (or until a toothpick pierced into the middle comes out clear).

In a little saucepan, heat up the heavy cream until it begins to boil.

In a second mixing bowl, break up the chocolate and pour the heavy cream over it. Mix both chocolate and heavy cream together until it melts and creates a smooth texture.

Once the cake is ready, remove from the oven and place onto a plate, before pouring the chocolate and cream mixture into the middle. For added fun, allow it to cascade over the cake.

Told you we LOVE chocolate.

This recipe is lush for an Autumn dessert, as it’s warm and gooey. Plus, it’s a fun baking experience with young children – they’ll love the messy element and, if they’re anything like my little one, you might need to buy extra chocolate, as they’ll be eating as you go along.
