Chinese New Year 2019: Deep Fat Fryer Chinese Sweet ‘N Sour Pork


2 lbs of pork
2 eggs
1 tsp of sesame oil
1 cup cornstarch)
½ tsp of salt
1/4 tsp of pepper
Chinese five spices
2 ½ tbsps of canola oil

Method for Sweet & Sour Pork

In one bowl, mix the cornstarch with the salt, pepper and a pinch of the Chinese Five Spices.

In a second bowl, beat the eggs and add the teaspoon of sesame oil.

Chop the pork into pieces and coat them with the cornstarch mixture.

Dip each piece of pork into the egg mixture, shaking off any excess and then place them back into the cornstarch mixture.

Place in your fryer at 180oC until golden brown.
